There's a common misconception that all vegetarians are health nuts, and I enjoy my quinoa and tempeh along with the best of them. But I enjoy things like this more. An herb and onion french toast sandwich filled with buttery hash browns and a cheese sauce that, once cooled, essentially became a block of cheese again. And a slice of tomato, for the sake of appearance.

9/4/10 in Somerville: Laura's (on right) last breakfast in Somerville before flying to Japan. Western-style three-egg omelet (stuffed with cheese and delicious sweet potato chili made by Laura and Aimee the night before for a party) with battered homefries, orange juice, and canteloupe. Bye Laura. :(
9/6/10 in Somerville: three-egg omelet with tomatoes, chili peppers, fake chicken strips, provolone cheese, and fresh corn. I'm pretty sure that that list of ingredients sounds really tasty, but it was a disappointment. Just bland. Should've put some garlic and nuts and other seasonings, even salt and pepper, in there. Oh well...black tea and orange juice on the side.

Before...
After!
A pretty classic breakfast. Two fried eggs, sunny side up. Two (fake) sausages (courtesy of Laura Giorgio!), packed with parmesan cheese and crushed garlic. Two slices of seven-grain toast (also Laura, with her Lightlife dad and her Bloc 11 job and whatnot), with butter and peach jam (courtesy of Becca Weaver!). An orange and a cup of Barry's Tea on the side.
The fat of the land
8.26.10 in Somerville: Fake sausage patties stuffed with parmesan cheese, home fries with crushed garlic and spices, and buttered foccacia. Apple juice and tea on the side.
Happy September! 9.1.10 in Someville: Open-faced breakfast sandwich that I was a particularly big fan of for flavor, nutrition (so-to-speak) and satiation. Maybe I'll come up with some neat name for it. From bottom, toasted and buttered foccacia bread, thick layer of spicy Monterey jack cheese, sauteed red peppers, two black bean burgers, two fried eggs, fresh sliced grape tomatoes, and topped with Japanese-style vinaigrette. Black tea and orange juice on the side.
