9/4/10 in Somerville: Laura's (on right) last breakfast in Somerville before flying to Japan. Western-style three-egg omelet (stuffed with cheese and delicious sweet potato chili made by Laura and Aimee the night before for a party) with battered homefries, orange juice, and canteloupe. Bye Laura. :(

9/6/10 in Somerville: three-egg omelet with tomatoes, chili peppers, fake chicken strips, provolone cheese, and fresh corn. I'm pretty sure that that list of ingredients sounds really tasty, but it was a disappointment. Just bland. Should've put some garlic and nuts and other seasonings, even salt and pepper, in there. Oh well...black tea and orange juice on the side.

Before...

After!

A pretty classic breakfast. Two fried eggs, sunny side up. Two (fake) sausages (courtesy of Laura Giorgio!), packed with parmesan cheese and crushed garlic. Two slices of seven-grain toast (also Laura, with her Lightlife dad and her Bloc 11 job and whatnot), with butter and peach jam (courtesy of Becca Weaver!). An orange and a cup of Barry's Tea on the side.

The fat of the land

8.26.10 in Somerville: Fake sausage patties stuffed with parmesan cheese, home fries with crushed garlic and spices, and buttered foccacia. Apple juice and tea on the side.

Happy September! 9.1.10 in Someville: Open-faced breakfast sandwich that I was a particularly big fan of for flavor, nutrition (so-to-speak) and satiation. Maybe I'll come up with some neat name for it. From bottom, toasted and buttered foccacia bread, thick layer of spicy Monterey jack cheese, sauteed red peppers, two black bean burgers, two fried eggs, fresh sliced grape tomatoes, and topped with Japanese-style vinaigrette. Black tea and orange juice on the side.

The man and the boy in the bomb shelter

From The Road by Cormac McCarthy, when the travelers on the road discover a well-stocked bomb shelter and have breakfast:

"The boy went past, his hair matted with sweat. What is that? he said.
Coffee. Ham. Biscuits.
Wow, the boy said."

Catch-up, with ketchup

6/11 in Somerville: (it has been awhile) Homemade bread, toasted with butter, homemade oatmeal (meaning not from a little sleeve) with vanilla yogurt, brown sugar, and slivered almonds, and black tea

7/19/10 in Somerville: Toast bagel with a lot of butter, homemade oatmeal with brown sugar and dahl yogurt (sour more than sweet), black tea in a fun mug and orange juice from the bottle. Ed, Ruth and Will make a guest appearance.

8/3/10 in Somerville: four egg-omelet with two different cheeses, garlic, broccoli, walnuts, and chili peppers from the front porch (I think that's all. I consider this my first-ever successful omelet.)

8/5/10 in Somerville: similar omelet, with mushrooms this time, and a glass of orange juice

8/6/10 in Somerville: another four-egger, this time with cherry tomatoes, garlic, spinach, and leftover mashed-up black bean burger. Beer on the side.

8/10/10 in Somerville: Omelet time again. This time with cherry tomatoes, black beans, tons of cheese, walnuts, garlic, spinach, and maybe some mushrooms? Black tea and water on the side.

8/13/10 in Somerville: The big, fried picture. Currently cooking are a black bean burger, an egg to go on top of it, and some breaded French fries. This bordered on lunch in terms of both materials and time of day, but it was the first meal of the day.
8/20/10 in CAMPBELL COVE, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND: A typical camping breakfast for us. Scrambled eggs with sharp cheddar cheese, and maple syrup baked beans (from a can) with fresh sweet corn and butter. Apple juice and black tea on the side.
8/24/10 in Somerville: Gimme Lean Sausage pattie (thanks Laura's dad!) pack with parmesan cheese, toast with butter, and homefries with crushed garlic, pepper and Cajun seasoning
